The Desert
Happy Spring My Friends!
The flowers have been blooming and the bees buzzing. The change in season also brings allergies and sinus troubles for me, and this year has been no exception. You know from my previous posts that I have struggled this month with low energy and motivation. This recent sickness slowed things down further for me, but I finally feel like I am getting back to myself. Today I began my reading in Deuteronomy. I finished Numbers yesterday, and proclaimed to my husband at the kitchen table, “They are still in the desert!”. Yes, spoiler alert, Deuteronomy begins with the people of Israel still in the wilderness. Later in the day , it dawned on me - We are all in the desert. We are all outsiders in this world, waiting and working towards one day making it to our promised land. We must fix our eyes on Him as we navigate today’s wilderness.
Deuteronomy 2:7 - “For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.”
I take great joy in knowing the Lord is with us every step of the way. I know that he continues to provide for us, even though we may not see it every day. Everything I have is because of His glory, love, and faithfulness. Praise be to God.
